According to OSHA Standard 1910.23(a)(2) regarding "Protection for floor openings," it's mandated that passages through railings must either be equipped with a swinging gate or designed in such a way to prevent direct walk-through into the opening.

THE GATE IS UNIVERSAL AND CAN BE FLIPPED AND USED FOR EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT HINGE APPLICATIONS.
